The difference between a party guests mention politely and one they’re still talking about next year is usually the DJ. From intimate birthday parties to large celebrations, I provide personalised mobile disco and DJ entertainment for private events across Colchester and Essex.
Parties I play
- Birthday parties – 18ths, 21sts, 30ths, 40ths, 50ths and beyond, all ages and themes.
- Anniversary celebrations – from silver to golden, romantic or full party atmosphere.
- Engagement and retirement parties – celebrating the big milestones.
- House and garden parties – a proper party in your own space.
- Family reunions – music that works across the generations.
- Corporate events – staff parties and celebrations.
A mobile disco that suits the room
I bring a complete sound and lighting rig sized to your venue, set it up before your guests arrive and take it away again at the end of the night. That includes a professional PA system, dancefloor lighting, LED uplighting and wireless microphones for speeches, toasts or a few words from the birthday boy or girl.
The music is planned around you. Tell me your must-plays and the songs you never want to hear, and on the night I’ll take requests that fit and read the room to keep the energy where it needs to be. With three generations on one dancefloor, that matters.
Village halls, function rooms and gardens
Village halls are some of the most common party venues I play. Most are community-run with no in-house sound system or entertainment, so you’re free to bring in the DJ you want. My village hall DJ guide lists the halls I’m regularly asked about across Essex and Suffolk, with a page for each.
Hall committees usually ask to see a DJ’s paperwork. I keep current PAT certificates and £10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance as standard, so it’s ready whenever a hall needs it.
Make it more than a disco
Want something guests can join in with? Add karaoke and let them take the microphone, or a video DJ set with music videos and a photo slideshow of the guest of honour.
What does a party DJ cost?
As a guide, packages start at £450 for up to four hours with a professional sound system and lighting. Every event is unique, so pricing is tailored to your date, venue and timings. See the package details or ask for a quote.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book a party DJ?
For private parties, two to three months is usually sufficient, though I can often accommodate shorter notice bookings depending on availability.
Do you take requests on the night?
Absolutely. I encourage requests that fit your music brief and the mood of the party, and I have an extensive music library covering all genres and decades.
What equipment do you bring?
I use Denon Prime DJ controllers, PA systems from HK Audio and LD Systems, and lighting from Chauvet and other quality brands, all run through Wolfmix lighting control. Wireless microphones, dance floor lighting and uplighting are included, and all equipment is PAT tested and insured.
Which areas do you cover?
I’m based in Colchester and cover the whole of Essex and Suffolk, including Chelmsford, Braintree, Witham, Maldon, Clacton and Sudbury.
